Bridge the Gap:
Protect the WCE Experience
The Public School Myth: Many assume property taxes fully fund our "Gold Medal" school. In reality, DPS only covers the bare basics.
The Reality: The "WCE Experience" - including our Paras, Nurse, Mental Health Team, Recess Coaches, and so much more is funded by us.
The Bottom Line: We are $75,000 away from our sustaining goal. If we don’t close this gap, we face significant budget cuts for the 2026-2027 year.
The Goal:$200k to PROTECT our current staff/programs; $225k to GROW and enhance them.

The Public School Myth vs. Our Reality
Most of us moved to Central Park believing our property taxes fully fund our schools. However, because of the district's funding formulas, WCE receives significantly less per-pupil funding than other schools.
The things that make WCE excellent are not fully funded by the district. They exist solely because of parent and community donations. To keep WCE great, we have to bridge that gap ourselves.
The Spring Gap: $75,000 to Go
While our start was strong, participation has recently dipped. Our recent Penny Pile Up raised less than half of last year's total. We currently sit at $125,000, leaving us with $75,000 to raise to reach our sustaining goal.
